"Install everything"

install everything means install every feature above, in dependency order — never install a feature before the one it depends on. Recommended order:

  1. Foundation: FTR-01, FTR-02, FTR-03, FTR-04, FTR-05, then FTR-06 (needs FTR-05); FTR-15 (Project Cache -- no hard dependencies; installs here so every project has its one cache folder and one index before anything else is built; it starts with the markdown manifest unless FTR-36 is already installed); FTR-42 (independent -- optional, install any time once the machine's IMAP/SMTP integration is confirmed working)
  2. Organization: FTR-07 (needs FTR-06), FTR-08 (needs FTR-04), then FTR-38 (catalogued under Foundation, but needs FTR-07 and FTR-08)
  3. Documents: FTR-10, FTR-11, FTR-12, FTR-25, FTR-33 (independent — no dependencies)
  4. Trackers: FTR-36 first (no dependency, independent base capability -- once installed, FTR-15's markdown manifest can move into the Excel workbook), then FTR-13 (needs FTR-07 and FTR-36), then FTR-14 (needs FTR-13 and FTR-36)
  5. Research: FTR-28 (needs FTR-13), then FTR-30, FTR-32, and FTR-35 (all need FTR-28)
  6. Brand & Identity: FTR-16 (needs FTR-07), FTR-17
  7. Legal: FTR-18 (needs FTR-07 — legal projects only), FTR-27 (needs FTR-15 — legal projects only), FTR-29 (needs FTR-28 — legal projects only), FTR-37 (needs FTR-36 — legal discovery projects only), FTR-39 (independent — no dependency), then FTR-40 (needs FTR-39), FTR-41 (independent — no dependency)
  8. Continuity: FTR-09, FTR-19, FTR-20 (needs FTR-06), FTR-21 (needs FTR-06), FTR-34 (independent — no hard dependency, though it benefits from FTR-13 if present)
  9. Health & Maintenance: FTR-22, FTR-23, FTR-26, FTR-31 (independent — no dependency), then FTR-24 last (it packages everything above)

By the time step 7 (Legal) is reached, steps 3, 5, and earlier in step 7 itself have already satisfied FTR-18's, FTR-27's, and FTR-29's dependencies — no extra ordering to think about beyond following the steps in sequence (FTR-29 specifically needs FTR-28, installed in step 5; FTR-30 and FTR-32 also install in step 5, immediately after FTR-28).

Note step 1: the core Foundation features (FTR-01 through FTR-06, and FTR-15 Project Cache) install first, before anything else — see the Foundation section note above for why, even though their individually-declared dependencies are none/FTR-05 only.

Optional features (FTR-12, FTR-14, FTR-16, FTR-17, FTR-18, FTR-20, FTR-25, FTR-27, FTR-28, FTR-29, FTR-30, FTR-31, FTR-32, FTR-33, FTR-34, FTR-35, FTR-36, FTR-37, FTR-38, FTR-39, FTR-40, FTR-41, FTR-42) can be skipped for projects that don't need them. Regardless of which are chosen, INSTALL-TIME FILE SAFETY above applies to every single one of them — it is not itself an item on this list, and skipping features never skips it.
